American Limoges Bowls
You are buying four (4) bowls (2 large vegetable bowls + 2 rimmed soup bowls = 4 bowls). Shipping is FREE to the United States! Plate racks are for display and are not included in sale.
These bowls were made in the USA by Triumph American Limoges, all four are marked on their undersides. This floral and filigree pattern is called 'Prince Rupert' and was produced in the 1950's. The filigree design on the bowl rims was done in 22K gold. The gray to blue rings inside the bowl are textured and rippled, a very unique effect!
The 4 bowls are two sets of matching pairs and all are identical in pattern. There are two rimmed soup bowls measuring 8 & 1/4 inches and 1 & 1/4 inches in height. Then two large round vegetable bowls that measure 8 & 3/4 inches and 2 & 3/4 in height.
The bowls are overall in good shape for their age. The pattern is still bright and the surface utensil wear is quite minimal. Some of the gold rim accents is faded and worn in spots but overall the gold is mostly intact and still bright. Some of the bowls have minor spots of glaze lumps on their undersides (see photos) and one bowl has a glaze lump on it's inner rings, very small. Glaze issues are a common flaw with older china and do not detract from the pieces at all. There is one tiny flea bite chip to the underside of one vegetable bowl and the other vegetable bowl has two small underside chips, one can be see a bit from the top, see last photo.
These bowls can be used in service still but they have great decoration appeal as well. They have a very shabby / cottage chic feel to both the design and coloring. The vegetable bowls are large enough to make a great display effect to any baker's rack or counter space.
